Hi, I’m Elle McKee, the baker behind Baker’s Bookmark. I found baking at a young age, and for me, it quickly became more than just a hobby—it was an escape, much like getting lost in the pages of a good book. The kitchen became my own little world, where I could create, explore, and share pieces of myself with others through something as simple—and powerful—as a cookie or a slice of bread.

I spent years teaching myself the craft, later gaining two years of culinary training at a technical high school. But it wasn’t until working with Emma Werle at Family Thyme Kitchen that the idea of owning my own bakery began to feel real. I helped grow the bakery side of her meal prep business, and with her encouragement, support, and the invaluable lessons she taught me—especially her "follow your heart" approach—I finally took the leap.

Baker’s Bookmark is the result of that leap—a long-awaited but last-minute choice, fueled by love, passion, and the desire to share something meaningful. I’m endlessly grateful for the unwavering support of my family and fiancée, who’ve cheered me on through every step of this journey.
